Blog Adda with their Product Reviews Program, in association with TATA Motors recently had this promotion of reviewing the new TATA Indica Vista D 90 by selected few bloggers and luckily I was one of them to review it. The technical aspect and specifications about the car can be found on the car site . I will discuss here my personal experience using the car.
I have not been a great fan of Tata cars so I had few thoughts about this car too but it definitely changed once I saw and drove the car. The look is pretty sporty with a black roof and bright red colour and hatchback gives the look a different edge. As I got in the car I was really impressed with the interiors too and also the gadget like panel on the dashboard. The black and goldenish beige interiors made the look pretty good and soothing. The steering had the audio controls which makes it easy while driving solo. The seating was comfortable with decent leg room, though I was little uncomfortable with the head room on drivers seat.
The drive was good as I felt the pick up was smooth and improved from earlier version and even on higher speeds the car was stuck to the ground which was to my liking. It felt light on hand and grip was also good. I tried and drove at different traffic timings at different types of roads and more or less the driving experience was quite good. Hope fully the mileage will also be as per expectations.
This car has been given the feel of a sedan car. The features have been added from earliers versions to make the driving experience comfortable. The bluetooth connectivity and DIS – Driver Information System are quite helpful. DIS shows the time, temperature, approximate average, fuel remaining, distance you can cover, etc which is quite handy at times. The leg room for all people travelling is pretty good. I took my family for a long drive and we all sat comfortably and enjoyed the drive thoroughly. If a car can take 5 adults and 1 child together then it shows the space and comfort level inside. My father in law being 6feet 3inches tall was very impressed especially with the comfort level and leg space while driving. The missing part was storage on the doors to keep any essentials, bottles, etc.
The Vista D90 has powerful headlamps and these are “follow me” headlights, which stay on for about 60 seconds after you’ve parked helping in showing the way to your destination in dark. There is also an intelligent rear wiper which has been added. If the front wipers are on, and you decide to reverse, the rear wiper will come on too. An impressive feature especially during rains. The sound quality of the audio system was not that great but it can be upgraded for a better music experience.
I think on the whole with good updated features and comfort level this car can be a heart winner of people. Now we need to see the pricing of all the models which Tata Motors come out with.
