Private India has 2 very catchy and interesting things on its cover page only – One its title and two the co-authors. Private India by name itself sounds interesting and 2 authors – Ashwin Sanghi & James Patterson of different nationalities, backgrounds, culture & genre coming together to write a book is exciting. And course the hype which is created these days over social media about a particular product or person. These were reasons good enough for me to go for this book under the book review program of BlogAdda. I am very slow reader and so it took me quite some time to complete this book like always.
The story starts off in Mumbai with few unrelated and unconnected murders and so the case is given to Private India – a top notch investigating agency headed by Santosh Wagh. The frequency of these murders was on the move so it was very important for Wagh and his team to crack this. During the course of investigation he & his very talented team comes across a mix of people into mix of things like crime, prostitution, sex, money laundering, politics, corruption, etc. The plot is interesting and the writing style makes the mystery quite interesting till the end. As the story progresses the read become more and more interesting and sometimes you can relate it like a bollywood movie too.
The story also tells about his own internal complex life and with that he has to handle this complex case. The involvement of underworld makes it like edge of the seat thriller and exciting. There is some element of mythology which is mixed with some sequences which adds new element to the story. I think overall the writers have kept the murder plots the centre of the story and make other things revolve around to balance it out. I also like the way city of Mumbai is covered and taken in the story. Mumbai always has been an exciting city so it will add life to any story which is what exactly happened here too.
Ashwin Sanghi keeps upto his tag of one of the best conspiracy fiction writers ( though I must admit this is his first book I have read ). His other famous & bestselling books are – The Rozabal Line, Chanakya’s Chant and The Krishna Key. I look forward to reading these soon.
James Patterson on the other side continues his successful ‘Private’ series after Private, Private Vegas, Private L.A. , Private London, Private Down Under, Private Berlin, etc . I found that he has always co-authored these series and have had a quite a success with these books.
I think overall it is a decent read and I will definitely recommend it. This is my first book review so I am pretty excited to write and when you the book is such a good one it is all the more exciting to write about it.
